Biography
Dr Nariman Sadri
Nariman was born in May 1976. He completed his education at Hadaf and Alborz schools. During his studies, he learned the principles of retail trade from his uncle. As a curious student, he acquired various skills such as blacksmithing, electrical work, photo development and printing, industrial drafting, and computer programming. However, none of these could fully satisfy his eager mind for exploring the world around him. Therefore, he entered the intriguing field of medicine and pursued his studies at Shahid Beheshti University.
During his university years, Nariman became involved in student union activities and was elected as the student representative. This was the beginning of his journey toward discovering his own capabilities in management and transformation, a path that continues today in his leadership roles in the healthcare industry.
Nariman initially started working part-time in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative for Roche’s blood glucose monitoring devices. Until 2008, he held various expert and middle management positions at Novartis and Eli Lilly. Following Eli Lilly’s decision to cease its operations in Iran, he was invited by the Chief Medical Officer of Sanofi to join the company. This significant chapter in his career provided him with the opportunity to take on various senior organizational responsibilities, enabling him to learn the principles of professional leadership in the healthcare industry.
From 2013 to 2019, Nariman served as the CEO of Sanofi Iran for six years. During this time, he succeeded in consolidating Sanofi’s various units under one roof and a scientific office. Together with Sanofi’s professional and experienced team, they implemented strategic programs such as licensing production in collaboration with Oubari Pharmaceutical Company and Sobhan Oncology, expanding the diabetes unit’s activities, and launching several joint scientific and research projects with universities and research centers across the country. Additionally, after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he played a key role in signing a research, educational, and industrial cooperation agreement between Sanofi and the Iranian Food and Drug Administration during the president’s visit to Paris. This agreement resulted in one of the largest research projects on diabetes in Iran.
In 2015, Dr. Nariman Sadri was recognized for his transformative efforts in the healthcare industry and was selected by the World Economic Forum as one of the Young Global Leaders, a prestigious honor previously granted to only six other Iranians.
In 2019, Nariman decided to apply his knowledge gained from working in a multinational company to the entrepreneurial space, collaborating with Iranian companies. Simultaneously, he entered the rapidly growing plasma industry as the CEO of Darman Ara, pioneering innovative activities in this field. He continues his involvement in the Tehran Health Fund, the Association of Knowledge-Based Companies in the Health Sector, the Commercialization Committee, and several health tech and pharmaceutical startups.
